Meet the Author of Spirit Stories
I arrived in this world with a book in my hand, my mum likes to say. And from the moment I opened my eyes, storywriting and ghosts were my thing.
Mum retells the early years; her new baby giggling at someone invisible. Many nights she’d prepare me for bed and leave the room to fetch warm milk, returning to find me tucked in, blanket smoothed, lullaby cassette singing. My parents are convinced this left a mark on me and the reason for my lifelong fascination with death and what awaits beyond.
As a teenager, I watched the Hollywood version of Casper, starring the young Christina Ricci. Spellbound when her human hand falls through the white fog of Casper's, I remember thinking: “I’ll have a ghost boyfriend one day too…”
Then, it happened.
At thirty-nine, the love of my life was unexpectedly snatched from this world in a tragic event. I spiralled into diagnosed complicated grief.
Although I somehow survived grief, I was changed.
After losing him, my ability to connect with spirit amplified. My partner never left me at all, and he was not letting me go easily.
Grief was no longer just a word to me. It became a very real experience. I couldn’t bear knowing there were people experiencing this devastation, not realising their loved one might still be sitting beside them.
I never anticipated using mediumship to help others, but when I began developing Spirit Stories, the feedback was extraordinary. My writing contained evidential details about deceased people, which led me to dedicate time to further study. Alongside mediumship training, I obtained a Diploma in Mental Health. My own experience of profound loss, combined with studies has given me deep understanding of what grief can do to a person.
When someone is grieving, they need to be met with understanding, gentleness and empathy.
Each and every Spirit Story is created with lived experience and a deep respect for the tender hearts entrusted to me.
When I write a Spirit Story, an unmatched warmth cushions me. You're not only recieving your own precious moment, you also provide the privilege of stepping into the pocket of magic myself.
And for that, I am endlessly grateful.
Lots of Love from Australia,
That girl from Spirit Stories
